BIOGRAPHY

Timothy Duncan is a former professional basketball player. Duncan started out as an aspiring swimmer and did not begin playing basketball until ninth grade. Duncan played basketball at Wake Forest, and earned the John Wooden Award, the Naismith College Player of the Year and USBWA College Player of the Year.

Duncan is widely regarded as one of the greatest power forwards of all time. He spent his entire, 19-year playing career with the San Antonio Spurs. After graduating from college, Duncan went on to win NBA Rookie of the Year after being selected by San Antonio with the first overall pick in the 1997 NBA draft. He is a five-time NBA champion, a two-time NBA MVP, a three-time NBA Finals MVP, and a 15-time NBA All-Star. As of 2021, Duncan is the only player to be selected to both the All-NBA and All-Defensive Teams for 13 consecutive seasons. Hall of Fame power forward Charles Barkley said, "I have seen the future and he wears number 21," referring to Duncan's second season.

Off the court, he created the Tim Duncan Foundation to raise health awareness, fund education, and youth sports programs. As of 2021, Duncan is a Spurs assistant coach, working under the legendary head coach, Greg Popovich.
