Dan Majerle is a former professional basketball player and coach. Born and raised in Michigan, Majerle starred at Central Michigan University, where he played all four years and helped lead the Chippewas to the 1987 NCAA Tournament.

Majerle held the CMU season record for points until Marcus Keene broke the mark in the 2016-17 season. The Suns selected Majerle with the 14th pick of the 1988 NBA draft. During the draft, he was promptly booed when his name was announced over the public address system. Suns coach Cotton Fitzsimmons publicly chastised the Suns fans and told them "you'll be sorry you ever booed this young man". In his rookie season Majerle played in 54 games and started in 5, averaging 8.6 points as a bench player. In 1993, Majerle would co-star with Charles Barkley and bring the Suns to the NBA Finals. That year, Majerle was 2nd in scoring on the team, and earned his second All-NBA Defenisve team. Majerle played 14 years in the NBA with the Phoenix Suns, Miami Heat, and Cleveland Cavaliers. He won a bronze medal with the U.S. national team at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, and a gold medal at the 1994 FIBA World Championship.

Majerle was the associate head coach for the Phoenix Suns from 2008–2013. The last time Majerle coached was in 2015, for the Grand Canyon Antelopes.
